I have been dealing in Antique Jewellery since 1973.

During my working life I have been involved in all things to do with fashion and beauty. A trained beautician, I started to work with my parents in their Antiques business in 1973 and in 1980 I opened a shop in an Antiques centre in the city centre of Manchester.

Ronnie, whose experience in the Antiques business goes back to 1967, but whose background has been mainly in fashion and textiles, joined me in the business in 1991, when we started to concentrate on exhibiting at major Antiques Fairs.

Together we have been specialising in quality jewellery and over the years our collection has gone from better to magnificent.

In the early 90’s we bought a large collection of important named Costume Jewellery, some of which featured in the influential exhibition catalogue “Jewels of Fantasy”. Having always had a “soft spot” for unusual and stylish jewellery, this set us off on the path of exploring more of the better end of Vintage Costume Jewellery and over the past 10 years we have become specialists in this field, whilst not neglecting older and fine jewellery.

Our expertise in Vintage Costume Jewellery has lead to the publication of an article we wrote for the May 2006 issue of the “Antiques and Collectibles” magazine and also some of our pieces are in in the “Miller’s Collectables Price Guide 2007” pp 196,198 and 200.

We have built up a wonderful clientele and we enjoy sharing our enthusiasm with them for the many spectacular pieces we have to offer.

Quality is of the utmost importance to us and the emphasis is always on condition and authenticity above anything else. When buying, we use a criterion which we call “SQUIP”; it stands for Special, Quality, Unusual, Interesting and Price. Only when a piece responds to these terms, will we consider it for our collection. Every piece is thoroughly checked for authenticity and our extensive library of books and catalogues of Jewellery and Silver enables us to research the most obscure objects that come our way, so that our clients can be assured of buying with the fullest confidence.
